At Lamberhurst St Mary's, we are committed to providing a high-quality Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum that supports pupils' personal development, well-being and safeguarding. RSHE helps children develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to build positive relationships, stay safe, and lead healthy, happy lives. The Department for Education's updated statutory RSHE guidance comes into effect from September 2026, and our curriculum has been planned to meet these requirements.

To ensure full coverage of the statutory curriculum, we use the Kapow Primary RSHE Scheme of Work, which provides a carefully sequenced, age appropriate programme of learning from Reception to Year 6. Through engaging lessons, pupils learn about relationships, health and well-being, personal safety, online safety, and preparing for the changes they experience as they grow. The scheme supports our school values and promotes respect, resilience and inclusion.

At Lamberhurst St Mary’s we have chosen not to teach the Non-Statutory Sex Education content.
